Due to strong demand from China, industry indicated that average contract prices of international coking coal may reach USD240/mt (FOB) in early 2011, and that of the second half year will be even high. Furthermore, AUD appreciation may pull up the price of coking coal since Australia’s deal volume of coking coal takes 64% of the global market. In addition, China and India will compete to buy energy resources.
